Even with a bunch of TRIPOLI members helping, Joe Sheppard could not get that big M motor to light on his Free Bird 3.
He decided to give it up for the day and try for another time by the afternoon.

Scott not only had the flight closest to a mile, he had the top 3 for 2024!
Winner of the 2024 "George Pike Frequent Flyer Award", Kevin Wuchevich.
Kevin is not only the first 3 time winner, he is the reason behind the "Kevin" rule. Once a member wins the George Pike award, they cannot win again for the next two years. Anyone can win but they have to beat Kevin!
And if the back of your car regularly looks like this, you too can win the George Pike Award.
A November launch was on the schedule but overly dry conditions meant that the October launch was the last for 2024. As a result, all of the award numbers finalized in October.
And while 2024 was not the biggest year for TRIPOLI Pittsburgh, it most certainly was a winner.
And the hopes for 2025 are even bigger!
