TRIPOLI Pittsburgh History
We are Tripoli Pittsburgh, Prefecture #1 of the TRIPOLI ROCKETRY ASSOCIATION, INC. In 1964 high school students in the East Pittsburgh area of Southwest Pennsylvania formed a science club leaning heavy into rocketry activities. Thus was born Tripoli.) Through variations on the name of Tripoli the group persevered until the early 1980's when it sprang into the National Organization known as The Tripoli Rocketry Association, Inc. Today Tripoli Pittsburgh is a Prefecture and the National Tripoli has evolved into an International Organization with members and Prefectures (clubs) in every state and 22 Countries around the world.
