Rick Shubert readies his Purple People Eater for flight in the pits (above).

The People Eater lifts off on a Loki H-160 (at left).

Rick's Purple People Eater appears to be headed for the trees behind the high power pads under parachute (below). Luckily it dropped behind the trees and Rick was able to recover it without issue.
As always, thanks go to Ken Allen of Performance Rocketry for bringing his truck full of motors, parts and extras to our launch.

If you don't know Ken, be sure to talk to him. He is a great guy and few have his rocketry knowledge.
Under parachute the Excalibur of Rigel Meyers (by way of Ken Good) drifts farther than expected into the trees to the east.

After a creative recovery, the Excalibur was extracted and other than a few scratches to its stellar finish, little damage was incurred.

As of August no flights have been posted for the Mile High Club.
Casey Andre flew his Iris on a J-410 and under parachute it drifted towards the pond but short of the trees.

After a long unsuccessful search, Casey called in the drone crew who found the Iris in under 30 seconds.

"I walked by it a half dozen times and never saw it", said Casey.

The head of the drone crew replied, "No problem Casey, happy to help out"

We at TRIPOLI Pittsburgh hate to lose rockets, so if ANYONE needs help, don't hesitate to ask!
