Flyers: 18
Flights: 47

Weather was near perfect for flying rockets at the July launch.

Winds were dead calm to light breezes.

Temperatures were in the low to mid 80's.
It appeared as if the crowd would be small when TR flew his Big Bertha for the first flight of the day.
By mid-day the crowd had filled out for quite a sizeable turnout.
Early in the day TR Garman was commenting to Casey Andre how there had been no Big Bertha's flying in the past number of years at the Dragon's Fire Field.

"When I was a kid the Bertha was one of the most popular kits," TR commented, "everyone had one and they were flying all over the place."

"I have been back to flying with TRIPOLI Pittsburgh about eight years now and I have yet to see a Big Bertha fly here at the Dragon's Fire Field.", TR continued.

About mid-day Will Sublett loaded up his Big Bertha (at left), contradicting TR's statement about the lack of Bertha's.
Will Sublett's Big Bertha heads upward on a B-4.
In a rare occurance, Casey Andre came to the field with NO rockets to fly.

"I was re-finishing the floors in my house", Casey said, "and I painted my rocket closet out of reach."

We are willing to bet that Casey will be out in August with a full rack.
Without rockets to attend to, Casey could put in the whole day at RSO duty.  Nobody presses the button quite like Casey.

Casey did a great job (and a necessary one) and we should all thank him.

Thanks Casey!

While Casey brought no rockets, his dad Jerry Andre had a full rack ready to go. And since Jerry and Casey tend to work as a well oiled machine of a team, Casey still had plenty of rocket action to enjoy beyond just pushing the buttons.

Jerry Andre preps his fleet before launch action begins.

The crowd picks up steam.
