Jerry Andre gets featured here often, and for good reason.
He builds some of the more interesting rockets of anyone in the club. And Jerry is one of the most consistient flyers of TRIPOLI Pittsburgh.
Jerry brought out a number of his odd birds in July but one that stands out is his Alien Raider.
Jerry Andre - Alien Raider aka Barney
Jerry checks out the business end of the Alien Raider booster.
Jerry Andre with his Alien Raider just before they snapped on the cuffs.
The Raider flies on a central J-420 motor with a pair of air started H-148 motors in the outboard weapon bays.
Jerry Andre watches his Alien Raider lift off on the central J-420 red motor.
Note the red blast in the onboard image below.
The Raider coasts for a couple of seconds (above) before the outboard H-148 motors ignite (left and below).
The field looks substantially smaller as the tracking smoke billows just before apogee.
Jerry snaps a few shots as the Raider unfurles its main parachute.
And for a typical Jerry Andre flight, the Alien Raider sets down within the infield for a short walk and easy recovery.
Casey and Jerry Andre yuk it up in the pits, below. Please note: two consecutive launch reports with Jerry smiling. And thanks to Casey for doing the RSO work for most of the July Launch.
Any new fliers should talk to Jerry Andre at the launches. He is one of the best builders and flyers in TRIPOLI Pittsburgh
Thanks for the thrill Jer!
